Wildlife Refuge Cuero y Salado
It is a protected area, dry river channels where we will see, animals in the wild and interesting birds. This provides protection to some 35 species of animals, including the manatee (or sea cow), jaguars, white-faced monkeys, lizards, etc. If you're lucky you may spot a manatee , endangered species that found here a safe place to live.
Butterfly and Other Insects Museum
The largest private museum in Honduras, with insects collected by Mr. Robert Lehman for 30 years. You will find more than 11,000 animals including: 2200 Honduran butterflies, 2400 exotic insects of Honduras , scorpions, tarantulas, centipedes, millipedes, beetles and the Scorpion Emperor of Africa (the world's largest scorpion).
Carnival
La Ceiba is known in Central America for its Isidra Fair, which takes place in May and culminates with the Grand International Friendship Carnival on the third Saturday of that month. The main street becomes a giant dance floor, where people enjoy the rhythm of Caribbean music.
