Volunteer in a disability inclusion project, Cordoba, Argentina

You are the one who can assure these children to have the chance to grow up safe and healthy.

On this project you’ll be working with an organization that promotes the full inclusion of the most vulnerable sectors of society, especially people with disabilities and children from families that live in extreme poverty. Guided by values like solidarity, independence, integration, attitude of service, responsibility, respect, commitment, honesty and loyalty they work towards a more inclusive society with equal opportunities for everyone.
The main goals of this NGO are to provide equal opportunities to children from poor households, to give seniors the opportunity to actively participate in building a caring society, to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities, to make society aware of the importance of inclusion and to avoid discrimination and marginalization that is generated by ignorance. Pretty noble goals, but you may be thinking they are engaging on a huge endeavor that could end up in just nice thoughts.
That is not the case for this organization. They address these issues with very concrete solutions. Doing one bit at a time, and they have become very successful on their objectives. Their actions speak loud into Argentinean society. They prepare lectures to raise awareness at schools and organize educational projects between regular educational facilities and institutions for kids with special needs. They also put together an annual congress to discuss integration and inclusion and spend days painting murals across different cities addressing issues like disability and children rights.

Join this project and make the difference!

That’s not all. They put up shows and art exhibitions; they maintain Sports and recreation programs for people with disabilities and often work with other institutions to deliver orthopedic items like wheelchairs for people that don’t have the money to buy them.
As a volunteer you’ll support the different activities that take place in the program and participate in weekly team meetings where the team plans and evaluates the group process and analyzes strategies to address the situations or problems that arise daily with children attending the association. You will also perform tasks of school support and assist in recreational and sports activities. If you want you can organize festivities and participate in team planning meetings.
This organization has been receiving the help of many volunteer that believe in creating a more just society and they need your help now! All you need to put in is your time, energy and open mind and you’ll get tons of affection in return. They will guide you every step of the way and help you make of this a very rewarding volunteer experience for you. Act now against discrimination!

Usually volunteers work from 4 to 6 hours per day, from Monday to Friday. You can be asked to work some weekends if needed. You can start your day early in the mourning by preparing breakfast for kids or work in the afternoon shift. Give a useful hand every time is necessary, it will be really appreciated! And be flexible enough as you won’t have every minute of your work day planned and resources are scarce.
