Volunteer at a nursery school, Sucre, Bolivia

You are the one who can assure these children to have the chance to grow up safe and healthy.

During the project you’ll be sharing time with Bolivian children whose parents haven’t got time to take care of them the whole day, due their hard work conditions. These children are needy of attention, affection and patience and that’s what this organization offers them.
The people working on this centre will assist you with all the information that you’ll need to get around the Sucre and use the public transport. They will tell you what to do and what not to do in the city, so that you will free and save to get to know Bolivia a bit better.
You’ll play an important role at the project. The permanent staff are extremely busy with the everyday running and maintenance of the nursery so you will be very important to ensure the children are entertained and occupied – prepare to be busy!

Join this project and make the difference!

You will help with arts and crafts, singing and dancing and meal times. The children are very young so all activities involve a learning experience – such as how to feed themselves, how to tidy up or share with other children. You will also be able to go out for walks with the children and suggest other activities.
In this project you’ll feel how rewarding it is to give your love to children. The most just need a bit of patience and comprehension, someone that spends time with them. By playing games with them, sharing your knowledge and your affection you’ll improve not only their quality of life, but also yours by taking part of an experience that will rest in your memory for ages.

  • Organize creative activities for them so they and have fun.
  • Experiment how rewarding it is to work with children.

Daily Routine

Usually volunteers work from 4 to 6 hours per day, from Monday to Friday. You can be asked to work some weekends if needed. You can start your day early in the morning by preparing breakfast for kids or work in the afternoon shift. Give a useful hand every time is necessary, it will be really appreciated! And be flexible enough as you won’t have every minute of your work day planned and resources are scarce.
