Santiago is located in the central valley of the country. It is an important cultural, commercial, industrial, and political gateway. This city is a modernized metropolis very renowned for having one of Latin America's most dynamic economies.
Both credited as cultural and modern, this is a typical Latin American city with quite an active nightlife. There are a lot of tourist attractions and adventure sports to participate in as well.
Santiago de Chile has multiple options for everybody, like Pablo Neruda's Home, the romantic hideaway of the famous poet and his wife Matilde; Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, with a great collection of Latin American aboriginal artifacts and paintings; and San Cristobal Hill, with a zoo, a wine museum and a gondola ride to the top. Outside the capital you should go to Valle Nevado, Chile's largest ski resort; Santa Lucia Hill, the most exuberant hill of Santiago; Rio Clarillo National Reserve, the last refuge for the sclerophyllous forest and protected animal species

Bellavista: Chic neighborhood on the south bank of the Mapocho River. By day, visitors to the area can shop for trendy items in the small shops and boutiques that populate the street, while at night, socialites can party into the wee hours of the morning at its clubs and bars. |

Transport
Metro, buses and taxis make moving about Santiago easy. One of the best ways to get around Santiago is using its clean, efficient Metro system. Five lines connect various points of the city. The bus network traverses the entirety of the city but it is not the popular choice for tourists since the metro system runs through most areas attractive to visitors.
Climate
Santiago has a Mediterranean climate. Hot dry summers (November to March) with temperatures reaching up to 35ºC (95ºF) on the hottest days; winters (June to August) are humid with cold mornings with a typical maximum daily temperature of 13ºC (56ºF), and a minimum of a few degrees above freezing.
