Bariloche, one of the most important cities in Patagonia, is a place that can be enjoyed all year round. This pleasant town lies on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake, in the Andes. Snow-capped mountains, glaciers, dense woods and crystalline lakes have turned this spectacular natural environment into one of Argentina’s major outdoor recreational areas. You can practice all kinds of sports here such as trekking, rafting and diving. In winter this place is a must for skiers coming from all over the world. Besides, Bariloche is also a gorgeous city with a European style architecture, an idyllic scenery with leafy trails to walk around. The city offers incredible activities and sightseeing such as Nahuel Huapi National park with glacial lakes and rushing rivers that flow into the ocean; Circuito Chico, a great option with breathtaking views and multiple activities to do like walking along the woods, horse riding, climbing, among many others.

The best of the city 

Nahuel Huapi National Park: Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi boasts views of mountain peaks, glaciers, rushing rivers, verdant forests, wildlife, the spectacular lake itself and all-year recreational activities.

Sports and Recreational Activities: Ride a horse, bike, walk, trek, hike, or parasail through and over the forested hills for rest and relaxation and many scenic views. Trekking options are Refugio Frey, Cerro Leones and Cerro Lopez. Cyclists enjoy the Circuito Chico.

Chocolate: The plentiful shops in town offer enough variety to please the chocoholic. "Frantom" will whet your appetite for more and you'll find plenty to savor at "Mamushka", "Estrella Alpina", "Rapa Nui", "Abuela Goye", "Fenoglio" and "Tante Frida".

Circuito Chico: Bike the beautiful half-day 60km route around the lakes. Riding clockwise is the easiest way, but if cycling isn't for you, take a bus and enjoy the views.

Museums: Museo de la Patagonia, in the Centro Cívico has a sections for Natural Science, Anthropology and regional history and a room for exhibitions. Other good choices are the Museo del Lago Gutierrez, in Villa Los Coihues and Museo Paleontológico on Costanera Avenue.

Nightlife and Restaurants: Plenty of choice! Restaurants, bars, apres ski and nightclubs offer a variety of choices and entertainment for all budgets.

Climate 
Bariloche has a cool temperate climate with dry, windy summers and rainy winters. No matter what season you'll find yourself enjoying what this city has to offer. Winter is perfect for enjoying quietly the snow or skiing you legs out! Days can be cold with snowy rains, or they can be very brilliant when the sun appears. Temperature fluctuates between 0ºC and -10ºC. The amount of snow in the city may vary from 10 cms., to even 50 cms., in cruel winters. In spring the city fills with flowers. Cool days begin to extend and gradually increase temperature, slowly reducing rains range. Nights are cold but during the day temperature fluctuates between 7ºC and 20ºC. Summer is an outdoor sports lovers paradise. Days are warm and sunny. Daylight extends from 6.00 am to 10.00 pm, since this city is located in a latitude of these characteristics. Temperature can reach up to 32ºC during the day and at night it goes down up to 18ºC. In autumn the city features millions of colors due to the tree leaves that fall. Days are cool -mild with cold nights. The temperature fluctuates between 4ºC and 13ºC. In this season bright, dry and cold days predominate, although heavy rains and early snowfalls appear, especially at the higher part of the mountains.
